Step 1 – Shampoo
The first step to follow is getting the right products. There are lots of shampoos out there to choose from but we found a few of the best.
These shampoos are known for their curl-enhancing complex, moisturizing properties, and smoothing out the hair cuticle. This will stop your hair from getting all tangled up.
When shampooing your hair firstly use plenty of water then apply shampoo. You only need to shampoo your scalp the suds will clean the rest of your hair as it moves down the length.
Try not to be too aggressive when shampooing, you can apply pressure but try to do slow circular motions as it will help it from becoming too tangled and will be easier to comb after.
Step 2 – Condition/Treatment
The next step is Condition, a moisturizing conditioner will help nourish the hair. You will notice changes in the appearance and texture of your hair. If you have heard of Olaplex but thought it was just for coloured hair, think again.
Olaplex No 3 aims to repair the hair preventing damage. This helps fix bonds in your hair so for curly hair this is an absolute must-have. Use twice a week to improve the texture and bounciness of your curls.
Curly hair is known for being naturally drier so always use conditioner and apply a nourishing hair mask 1-2 times per week.

Step 3 – Serum
The serum is here to stay! Without a doubt, they are the most effective products for the recovery and repair of dry, damaged hair. Luxe Oil Serum is on our list of top 10 of the best products ever. It has 3 oils Almond, jojoba, and Argan oil that will nourish your hair as well as condition, repair damaged ends all while leaving your hair weightless and bouncy.
We’ve been using this serum since it launched back in 2013. There is no other hair serum like it on the market that will give your hair all the nourishment it needs without making it leave any residue on your hair. Apply 3-4 drops of the serum onto wet hair before drying, then a few drops on dry hair to smooth out any bits of frizz.
Step 4 – Style
Squeeze out excess water by using an old cotton T-shirt. The texture of a towel will roughen the cuticle causing more frizz, using a cotton T-shirt will soak up the water without affecting the cuticle.
Spray your hair with a leave-in -conditioner this will put even more moisture back into your hair. Comb your hair with a Tangle Teezer the large handle and soft bristles will quickly comb through tangles. Take small sections of your hair and twist from root to tip. When the hair drys and unravel it will fall into a classic spiral.
Step 5 – Dry
The best way to dry curly hair is to leave it dry naturally. This sadly isn’t easy to do so you can use a diffuser to speed up the drying.
When using a diffuser switch it onto the medium heat heating and medium speed. This will allow the hair to dry quicker but let it fall in its natural state. Point the dryer down and tip your head upside down to give your hair more volume at the roots.
Finish off your style by spraying some sea spray. It will enhance the individual curls without weighing them down or leaving them feeling crunchy.
