The Brit Awards 2021.

The Brit Awards 2021 made a huge comeback packed with star-studded performances and a host of celebrities presenting awards we were ready and waiting to celebrate the biggest British Award ceremony.

The first inside live event since the COVID 19 pandemic meant that the awards usually in February were delayed until May. We had to wait a few more months but it was well and truly worth it.

Jack Whitehall hosted the awards for the 4th time at the O2 Arena in front of a very special NHS key workers audience. The event itself was a government trial to help researchers be able to put on more live events safely.

Opening the show was British band Coldplay with their song ‘Higher Power’. The big performers of the night were Dua Lipa entering the stage from a London tube in a union jack trench coat, which she then pulled off to reveal a union jack skirt reminiscent of that dress Geri Haliwell wore back in 1997.

Read – Friends The Reunion.

Years & Years performed ‘It’s a Sin’ with Elton John and it was the collaboration no one knew they needed. The Weekend performed his song “Save your Tears” closing the show was Rag ‘n’ Bone Man & Pink featuring the NHS Choir and their track ‘Anywhere away from here.’

We saw an array of celebrities presenting the awards including Clara Amfo, Maya Jama, Annie Mac, Mabel, MNEK, Olly Murs, Adam Lambert, David Furnish, Maise Williams and Lewis Capaldi. But the biggest shock of the night was Michelle Obama who presented The Weeknd with his award (via video link).

This year the winners would be awarded 2 trophies one to keep for themselves and the other will be encouraged to be given to someone that is important to them.
