With just 3 ingredients and made in less than 30 mins. You will have irresistibly chewy cookies that all the family will enjoy.

Oat recipes are so popular, that it seems they are trending all over Tiktok. There are so many deliciously yummy (and healthy) recipes to choose from, including baked oats, overnight oats, flapjack, and crumbles. The possibilities are endless – you name it, you can probably make it with oats. 

Oat Cookies for breakfast?

Yes, cookies for breakfast. Just one or two of these delicious treats will keep you satisfied for hours. Helping you to consume fewer calories throughout the day. Try adding yoghurt and berries for a nutritious breakfast bowl that’s so delicious, that you will think you’re eating dessert. And, they are not just limited to breakfast – they are perfect for lunchboxes too, or as a little afternoon pick me up.

Banana Oat Breakfast Cookies (Makes 12)

Prep time – 5 min

Baking time – 15 min

Calories – 55 kcal (approx.)

Ingredients

65g Oats

2 Medium Bananas

35g of chocolate chips (nuts/raisins)

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas mark 5, and line a baking tray with baking/parchment paper
  2. Mash up the bananas until smooth
  3. Add oats and gently stir until mixed
  4. Now stir in the chocolate chips 
  5. Scoop out a heaped tablespoon full and form into a cookie shape, and place on the baking tray (these cookies do not spread – so be sure to form into a cookie shape at this stage)
  6. Now repeat until you have 12 cookies
  7. Place them in the oven for 12-15 mins – let them cool and tuck in.

Top tips

  • Any Oats – You can use rolled oats, oatmeal, or just regular porridge oats.
  • Add peanut butter – Mix it up and add a spoon full to your recipe.
  • Pre Gym snackAdd a scoop of protein powder and grab one before you hit the gym.
  • Vegan Recipe – For a vegan recipe swap chocolate for nuts or raisins.
  • Freeze – You can store these cookies in a container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

To freeze place the baked cookies on a tray lined with baking paper and pop them into the freezer. Once frozen, you can store them in a zip lock bag in the freezer for up to 2 months. Defrost them overnight in the fridge.
