10 Questions with Francesca Amber
In a world obsessed with aesthetic journaling, Pinterest-perfect morning routines, and “good vibes only” spirituality, Francesca Amber has built something refreshingly real. Her hit podcast Law of Attraction Changed My Life has become a cult favourite among women who crave genuine transformation not just glossy affirmations.
A bestselling author, mother of three, and unapologetic realist, Francesca has turned manifesting into something tangible, practical, and deeply feminine. In this candid conversation, she opens up about how to find magic in the mundane, manifest through motherhood, and stop waiting for the “perfect time” to create your dream life.
1. What do you think most people get wrong about manifesting and how do you get them to see the magic in the mundane?
I truly feel the biggest misconception is that manifesting is all about meditation, journalling and crystals, when actually, it’s about what you do when no one’s watching. People tend to overthink manifestation as some mystical, faraway energy, but it’s really just energy in motion in the everyday. It’s your thoughts, habits and daily choices stacked over time.
I always say the magic is in the mundane. It’s in choosing to do the school run with gratitude instead of resentment. It’s in cleaning your kitchen while listening to a gratitude playlist or affirmations instead of doomscrolling. It’s not glamorous but it’s incredibly powerful. When you master the small, everyday intentions & vibration shifts… that’s when the big stuff starts to move.

2. What does ‘doing the work’ look like for you on an ordinary Tuesday morning with three children and a to-do list?
Doing the work for me doesn’t mean hours of journaling in a quiet, candlelit room (because let’s be honest, that’s a fever dream for single mums like I am) it just means imperfect consistency.
On a Tuesday morning, it looks like this. Waking up to the tail end of my 8 hour long subliminal I play overnight. Making breakfast for the girls isn’t complete without our ‘morning gratitude’ which is the playing of 3-4 songs all about gratitude for life, family, our lifestyle etc… as I’m making breakfast I’m not able to write a gratitude list but I’m able to SING my gratitude & that’s so much more powerful.
Every single morning I send a 2-3 minute voicenote to my friend Polly, stating out loud my intentions for the day in the past tense, like it’s already happened. It’s about showing up for yourself consistently, but also showing your children what it looks like to honour yourself, even in small ways.
3. How did becoming a mother change your relationship with self-development and spirituality?
Motherhood stripped away all the bull***t. Before children I could faff about with vision boards or ten point processes for hours. After having my daughters I had to learn how to consistently give energy to my goals & dreams when it felt like I had little time or energy for ANYTHING.
I have read close to 100 self-development books through my book club and something I realised was that none of these books mentioned being a mother at all.
None of these books were written with mums in mind and so we were set up to fail pretty much as soon as we started. I realised that I had been able to completely transform my life even in the depths of newborn motherhood where I felt completely overwhelmed by adapting many manifesting techniques into sustainable practices that took no extra time or energy.
I knew I had to write a book for women just like me, women who had tried manifesting before but had so called ‘fallen off the wagon.’
4. In a social-media-driven world that glamorises perfection, how do you stay grounded and keep your audience focused on genuine growth rather than aesthetic goals?
I remind myself (and my listeners) that growth doesn’t always look or feel great. It’s also not fast. People love quick results & incredible transformation but the truth is, real change takes time and it’s not always glamorous.
It’s not always Bali retreats and gratitude journals in perfect handwriting. Sometimes progress is spending five minutes visualising your goal whilst you’re loading the dishwasher.
5. What’s your practical framework for turning New Year goals into tangible progress the real ‘how’ behind the manifesting?
Turning old New Year’s resolutions into an annual ‘impossible to fail’ goal setting strategy is one of my biggest passions! I’ve spent the last five years developing a process and strategy that turns your New Year’s resolutions into a rock-solid plan to create the most incredible year ever.
When I set my New Year’s goals, I don’t simply make a list, I look at all the different areas of my life as well as the season of my life and set goals accordingly. The season you find yourself in can sometimes feel like a set back, but if you really look, it’s giving you the gift of focus. Your maternity leave might not be conducive to dating or travelling the world and having adventures, but is it great for getting that business off the ground you always dreamed of?
I also set a motto for the year or a theme if you like which helps me by hyper focusing on one area of my life that will propel me forward. I also like to divide my goals up into the four quarters of the year that will best suit that goal. This helps me keep me motivated throughout the year and not just overwhelmed in January.
6. What’s the mindset shift that helped you stop waiting for the perfect time and start building your dream life in real time?
The day I stopped waiting for ‘one day’ was the day everything changed. I realised there was never going to be a perfect time. I had no childcare, no income, no respite. But I could either wait for my circumstances to change or decide to create within them.
I always say: done is better than perfect. My early episodes were recorded with little sleep, raging hormones, breastfeeding babies in the background, but that rawness is what resonated. Manifesting doesn’t require perfect conditions – just courageous action.
7. How can manifesting become a tool for emotional resilience rather than another item on the self-improvement checklist?
The secret is to make it supportive, not performative. Manifest Like A Mother isn’t about adding more to your to do list or piling on pressure – it’s actually about releasing it. It’s your tool to return to when everything feels heavy.
When you view it as emotional hygiene, something that helps you regulate and reconnect it becomes a form of self-care.
8. How do you personally balance ambition with gratitude and wanting more without falling into the trap of never feeling “enough”?
I’ve learned that gratitude and ambition can co-exist. You can be deeply thankful for what you have and still want to grow. The key is to chase expansion, not validation. I get so much pleasure from creating my dream life and being in pursuit of a goal, whether it’s a bestselling book or buying my dream house. And yet, my practice and self-development work often causes me to look around at my current life & family & be moved to tears REGULARLY at the beauty of it all.
Whenever I start to slip into ‘not enough’ I ground myself in gratitude. It’s the quickest, simplest way. I remind myself that everything I once wanted – the home, the family, the money, the career, the fun & adventure I now have. From that energy, my next-level desires come from inspiration, not lack.
9. If you could give one assignment to every woman setting goals for 2026, what would it be something small that can create a truly big shift?
Clean up your energy. Before you set goals, clear the clutter – all kinds! That’s mental, emotional and physical. I mean it literally: clean your wardrobe, clear your inbox, release the things that no longer match who you’re becoming.
The universe loves a vacuum. When you declutter, you create energetic room for miracles. It’s simple, it’s free, and it works every single time.
10. After becoming a Sunday Times bestselling author — exactly as you manifested — what’s on your manifesting list next?
I see Manifest Like a Mother being turned into a TV show, or some kind of documentary. A mixture of Queer Eye & Sort Your Life Out, but giving mums a home, mind, body & life overhaul. I’m speaking that into existence!
I also am acutely aware of how fast time goes now my youngest daughters are at school and so it’s always to create more fun, adventure and travel with my daughters. I’m currently in New York with my eldest daughter doing all kinds of Halloween stuff & it’s the kind of thing I used to dream of.
