Caroline De Maigret

The French model Caroline de Maigret is a shining example of a modern-day multi-talented career woman. A French model, music producer and author, no less. Born on February 18, 1975, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, she comes from an aristocratic background as the granddaughter of Prince Michel Poniatowski, a former French minister of the interior. 

She began her modelling career in the 1990s and quickly became known for her work with prominent fashion brands and designers, including Chanel, Balenciaga, and Marc Jacobs. In addition, Caroline is a music producer and co-founded the record label Bonus Track Records. She has produced music for several artists and contributed widely to the French music scene.

Caroline De Maigret is also a published author. She co-wrote the book “How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love, Style, and Bad Habits” with three other Parisian women, which became a bestseller and offered insights into the Parisian lifestyle and attitude.

Known for her distinctive style and effortless chic, Caroline de Maigret has become an icon of Parisian fashion and culture. She continues to influence the fashion world through her work and personal style, characterized by her distinctive blend of elegance, authenticity, and laid-back Parisian chic.

Speaking to Sheer Luxe Caroline said: “My style is best described as a mix of chic, androgynous and rock ‘n’ roll. It hasn’t evolved all that much over the years – I know what I like and have stuck to it.

“If I could swap wardrobes with anyone it would be Keith Richards – his style is sexy, androgynous, very rock’n’roll but with a chic touch, which is very me. My biggest source of style inspiration has always been Charlotte Rampling.“

Caroline admits to breaking a lot of the fashion rules but acknowledges the need to stick to no more than three colours in an outfit, ensuring cohesion of the look. Often seen wearing oversized garments she is not confined by the number on the label, however.  When wearing a statement piece she will pair it with monochrome to make sure she is not overdoing it and ensure her effortless look is in check. Pairing back an outfit is always essential at the last minute if cool is your middle name and Caroline de Maigret has been heralded as just that in the elite world of fashion icons.

As a music producer, Caroline de Maigret co-founded Bonus Track Records with her partner Yarol Poupaud. The label focuses on a diverse range of musical genres, promoting both established and emerging artists.
