LFW A/W 22: Trend Forecasting with Rebecca Dickenson.

Award-winning hairdresser Rebecca Dickenson talks hair trends from LFW. 

It may have been the weekend of Storm Eunice with record-breaking winds but that didn’t stop the fashionistas from getting to fashion week. London Fashion Week is seen as the epitome of streetstyle by all. The first in-person fashion week since the pandemic so of course, everyone made an extra effort. We saw everything from soft wool textures to spaceman silver outfits. There is something about London Fashion Week that always brings out the artistic side of people.  

This season we have seen trends such as the octopus haircut and bottleneck fringes. It seems we are coming away from the outgrown styles we all endured throughout the pandemic. The bob will be making a comeback (although a style that never truly goes out of style). Nicole Scherzinger recently braved the chop and styled her super-sharp haircut with textured waves giving the look a chic effortless style.

After watching London Fashion Week Rebecca talks us through the hair trends and how to easily re-create these looks at home. “The 16 Arlington Show really stood out to me, the clothes were powerful and it was a beautiful tribute to designer Federica Cavenati (Kikka).” There was a lot of “wearable hairstyles” throughout London Fashion Week which makes it easier to envisage these looks on ourselves.

Rebecca Dickenson Hair Trends.

Sleek – Straight hair is back. This is a really simple hairstyle to re-create at home. Spray Color Wow Dreamcoat over damp hair. Blow-dry the hair in small sections. once your hair is completely dry smooth over with GHD Straightening Irons and finish with Balmain Session spray. A perfect hairstyle for any occasion.

Fringes – If you are thinking of updating your look a fringe is a great way to make your hairstyle look completely different without cutting the length. “it’s not a style that suits everyone, fringes need to be cut by a hairdresser that is confident in creating soft wispy style”. Make sure you speak to your stylist to create a fringe that will suit you and your hair.

To style a fringe use a paddle brush keeping the hair taught and avoid using a round brush especially if you have a calf flick as this will create unwanted volume.
