Everything you need to know about Bridgerton Season 1 so you are ready for season 2.
Last season we saw Daphne Bridgeton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest of eight, during her first social season. As well as finding her way through Regency-era high society and dealing with the mysterious gossip columnist – Lady Whistledown(Julie Andrews), Daphne portrays a deep want for real love and innocence as she concocts a plan with the formidable Duke.
Based on the popular series by Julia Quinn, the first season follows the first book in the series known as The Duke & I. Following the story of the seasonal debut of Daphne Bridgerton and her beau the Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett (Regé-Jean Page). The rest of the series focuses on the other Bridgerton siblings, and the highs and lows of their journey to find that special someone.

We have been putting Lady Whistledown to shame as we have been looking at all the gossip and plausible scandals of season 2 of Bridgerton! According to the official Bridgerton Twitter there is a lot to speculate about for this new season.
Creator Chris Van Dusen has said that all the original cast shall be returning, except for the Duke himself Regé-Jean Page. There is also news of some interesting new faces popping up this season, including Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma, Anthony’s love interest, Charithra Chandran as Edwina Sharma, Kate’s younger sister and Shelley Conn will play Mary Sharma, Kate’s mother. We will also finally be meeting Edmund Bridgerton, Father to Daphne and deceased husband of Violet Bridgerton. Which we believe will be done throughout a series of flashbacks, either over one episode or through a couple of scenes.

More secrets have been revealed, other than the summer it was released that the first episode of season 2 will be called “Capital R Rake”. We have speculated on what this episode could entail based on evidence from season 1. With a “Rake” being a “ fellow that loves having a good time.” We can see this as being a hint at Anthony Bridgerton, who is the main protagonist of this season, as he tries to settle down from his bachelor lifestyle. We left Anthony in a bit of a standstill last season when he decided to marry but has that gone to plan with a title like that for the first episode?

According to an interview in ET with Jonathan Bailey, who plays Anthony, teased that “It’s just going to get more exciting and convoluted and sexier…” From a video clip released on September 25th, we can see this season being made “Spicy” by more than just intimacy but by angst as well, from the interaction seen between Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma.
If the first season is anything to go by, then we are going to swoon more this season than ever before.
