Former Ralph Lauren Vice President and Older Brother of Ralph Lauren, Leonard Lauren Dies

Leonard Lauren, the elder brother of fashion icon Ralph Lauren and a former vice president of the Ralph Lauren Corporation, has died at the age of 93. According to WWD a funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m in New York. Leonard Lauren, who was the older brother of designer Ralph Lauren, died Aug. 16 at the age of 93. 

Born in The Bronx in 1932, Leonard Lauren began his career as a photographer for Stars and Stripes during his U.S. Army service, traveling across Europe and documenting life abroad. Returning home, he launched a successful packaging and display business, working with luxury clients such as Tiffany & Co. and Cartier helping to create the now-iconic Tiffany blue box.

He later joined his younger brother Ralph in building what would become one of the world’s most influential fashion houses, playing a pivotal role in the company’s early growth. Though he eventually retired, the Lauren family legacy continued through his two daughters, who remain involved in the brand today.

Beyond business, Leonard Lauren dedicated much of his life to philanthropy, supporting causes from medical research to animal welfare. Known for his adventurous spirit and love of travel. Leonard Lauren passed away on August 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, generosity, and family dedication.
