The fashionable life of Christian Dior the man behind the brand
Christian Dior was raised in Normandy, France. Later at the age of 10, he moved to Paris with his parents. He began his design journey in 1935 after he had studied political science and served in the military. He started to sell his sketches when he returned to Paris, he was hired by a designer called Robert Piguet. The French fashion designer in 1946 was then supported by a textile manufacturer Marcel Boussac, this then encouraged Christian Dior to open and start his brand.
A year later, Christian Dior’s big break arrived with the ‘new look’ collection. The French fashion designer’s line focused on elaborate fabrics with fuller skirts and contoured waist tops. The brand wanted to capture the feeling of restoration after the war. This changed women’s fashion and made Dior a house name.

The French designer then extended his brand by opening his own fashion house, and alongside him was Marcel Boussac. The house of Dior is located in Paris, Avenue Montaigne, the location is associated with French fashion that is glamorous and high-class couture.
The Dior fashion brand has always followed its key rule of using unique fabrics and focusing on attention to detail with the tailoring. The brand highlights that its creations are not just fashion pieces, they show the French fashion brand’s exquisite craft and elegance.
Today Christian Dior’s legacy has always been honoured, through runway shows and by capturing the essence of haute couture. Dior has many brand ambassadors for 2024, Rihanna is the new face of J’adore Fragrance and the newly appointed global brand ambassador Rosalia was announced at the Met Gala. Rosalia fashioned a dress designed and created by Maria Grazia Churi. Rosalia joins other names such as BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and 15 female athletes including Alex Morgan U.S. soccer player and Olympic gold medalist.
The new Autumn/Winter collection for the French fashion brand has come with statement pieces, using basic colour blocks, along with a range of scarves and boots ready for the cooler season.

This now has a new representative bringing a new glamorous flair to the fragrance. Rihanna is the new face of J’adore, lending her unique singing voice in the promos for the fragrance and transforming into a stunning gold goddess.
